Hypnotherapy for Anxiety, Stress and Burnout
For people who look fine on the outside
You push through the anxiety every time - here’s why it’s not working
The racing thoughts, the overthinking, the constant what-if — for as long as you can remember, this has just been how your mind works.
You don't let it stop you. You never have. The presentation, the social event, the difficult conversation — you show up anyway. You push through, get it done, and from the outside, it looks like you've got this.
Nobody sees what it costs you to get there.
You can't sleep. Your brain won't stop, even when your body's had enough. In the morning it's hard to get up, hard to think clearly, hard to make even small decisions that used to be easy. You know you're trying to do too much, but you can't see a way to change that. It doesn't matter that you're tired — you're the linchpin. Work needs you. Your children need you. Your parents need you. Your partner needs you. Everyone needs you for something, and you're terrified of what happens if you let anything drop.
When you finally put a name to what you're feeling — stress, anxiety, overwhelm — you follow all the advice and you try to fight it. You try to think your way out of it, override it, push it back down every time it creeps in. But it keeps coming back despite all the battling and that starts to feel like its own failure.
What Changed When I Understood My Own Neurodivergent Brain
I know this pattern because I've lived it. For years, anxiety was just my normal — I didn't know it had a name until burnout forced me to go looking for one. Everything I read about anxiety told me to fight, to fix it with a list of techniques. But it kept coming back, and I felt like I was failing. Discovering I have a neurodivergent brain changed everything for me. I realised the problem was never my lack of effort. I realised I'd been using the wrong tools entirely. And that functioning and flourishing are not the same thing.
This Isn't Only My Story
After 13 years of specialising in anxiety, I hear this story in my therapy room on a weekly basis. But something shifted in my conversations with clients during the pandemic — people started saying things they'd never admitted before. Things that explained why, no matter what they did, the anxiety never shifted. That the job they were terrified of losing, they'd never really enjoyed. That the retirement they'd been dreaming of left them feeling adrift, unsure who they were without a role to define them. That the business built from nothing left no room to enjoy the life it was meant to be for.
Again and again, when I asked people what they wanted from our work together, they'd sigh and say the same thing: "Caroline, I just want to enjoy my life." And that is what anxiety gets in the way of — living a life we can enjoy.
Why There's No One-Size-Fits-All Solution
What worked for me won't be exactly what works for you. Anxiety, stress and burnout might look similar on the surface, but the reasons underneath them are different for everyone — which is why my work starts with understanding your specific needs, not applying a fixed method regardless of who's in front of me.
How Working With Me Is Different
Working with me is different. The goal isn't to fight the anxiety harder. It's to create the internal conditions where you don't have to fight it in the first place.
Hello, I'm Caroline. I'm a hypnotherapist and coach who burnt out doing jobs I loved. I'm passionate about helping people create the right environment for themselves to flourish. I work with people like you — who often look fine on the outside, capable, successful, holding everything together, but internally exhausted or disconnected from yourself. Using a blend of neuroscience, hypnotherapy and coaching, I help you get curious about your own unique needs, discover how to meet them, and weave that into a life that actually feels like yours.
-
Break free from the exhaustion of stress, anxiety and burnout with modern, clinically proven hypnotherapy and neuroscience-backed techniques.
Build resilience and cope better with life's inevitable ups and downs, for the everyday stress and for life's bigger challenges.
Understand your own unique needs and values — and create the environment, inside and out, where you can actually meet them.
Become you again — confident, motivated, and reconnected with your true self, so you can shape a life that genuinely feels like yours.
-
My neurodivergent brain and my background in conservation work help me see people's struggles in a unique way.
Instead of asking "what's wrong with this person?" I ask: "what environment have they been trying to survive inside, and what do they actually need to flourish?"
I use a blend of solution-focused hypnotherapy, coaching and mentoring, shaped around you rather than a fixed programme — because there's no one-size-fits-all way for a person to flourish.
In practice, that means I help you explore your own path — not one someone else has mapped out for you. I back up what you're feeling and experiencing with the neuroscience understanding behind it, so it makes rational sense, rather than feeling lost in a jumble of emotions. I reflect back what you might not always see in yourself. And I help you unravel what the past has taught you, without getting stuck there.
A lot of people have spent years adapting, over-functioning, performing success, or overriding their own needs to fit environments that were never really built for them.
My work helps you reconnect with yourself, rebuild self-trust, and create a life that feels more aligned, creative and sustainable — instead of constantly trying to optimise or fix yourself.

I trained at one of the UK's leading schools of hypnotherapy — qualifying at HPD level from the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School in 2013.
But training is only the starting point.
Over 12 years and thousands of hours of client work, I've adjusted and adapted that foundation to work with hundreds of unique individuals. I've lectured at CPHT, supervised trained hypnotherapists, and kept growing and developing my own training in neuroscience, hypnotherapy and coaching, because the way I work keeps evolving in response to my clients' needs.

I work with people experiencing stress, anxiety, overwhelm or burnout — even when everything looks fine on the surface.
People in the middle of a career, a busy family life, at the start of retirement, or deep in building a business they once dreamed of.
My clients are often highly capable people juggling busy lives and commitments. What brings them to see me is:
● Anxiety that's run in the background for years, but it's reached a point where they are struggling to cope with it.
● Years of chronic stress and anxiety that have tipped into a burnout they can't seem to climb back out of.
● Discovering they have a neurodivergent brain, which finally explains why life has felt so hard, but they don't yet know how to move forward differently.
Many come to me saying that, on paper, their life looks good — yet they find themselves just getting through each day, functioning, not flourishing.
-
Move from functioning to flourishing — not just getting through your days, but actually living them.
Real tools, not quick fixes — practical ways to work with what's keeping you stuck now, that you can keep using long after our work together ends.
Support that fits you — whether that's stress, anxiety, burnout, neurodivergence, chronic illness or something else entirely, the work adapts to you, not the other way round.
My work is to help you discover the conditions that allow you to truly flourish — and to create more of them in your life.

From a young age, I was guided by a strong intuition to seek out environments that felt right for me.
This instinct led me away from traditional office jobs and towards roles where I could flourish and help others do the same, including Veterinary Nurse, Dog Training Instructor, Charity Worker, Therapist, and Artist.
Along the way, I built a reputation for working effectively with those often seen as "lost causes", whether that was animals or people.
I found myself with a reputation for finding creative solutions where others thought none existed.
Working with animals, in conservation, and now with my clients has taught me the same thing again and again: we all need the right environment if we're going to flourish.
Rather than working to "fix" someone, I work to understand the individual and their unique needs, using that to guide us towards finding a way for them to flourish in their own way.

My approach centers on truly understanding each individual and connecting with them on a personal level.
I strive to understand your unique needs and values, explore any barriers together, and creatively work around them.
My goal is to help you create the environment — both inside and out — where you can flourish. For my clients, this means:
Valuing you as an individual, not just a list of symptoms
Getting curious about barriers and how to navigate them
Helping you discover solutions that feel right for you
Building mental and emotional resilience tailored to your needs
Supporting you to take back control and create a fulfilling life
I use a blend of solution-focused hypnotherapy, coaching and mentoring.
Hypnotherapy helps you let go of what weighs you down.
Coaching helps you bring your own answers together in ways that make sense.
Mentoring means I share the wisdom of my own journey, so you know you're not alone.
This isn't about fixing you, because you were never broken. It's about creating the space for you to reconnect with yourself, and step onto your own unique path.

For years I thought my anxiety was normal. The racing thoughts, the overthinking, the constant what-if running under everything I did — I didn't know it had a name, because I'd never known life without it. It was just how my brain worked.
It took burnout to make me look deeper and discover I'd been living with anxiety all my life. I read everything I could find, followed every technique, tried to think my way out of it and override the constant worries. But it kept coming back. And now I had a new anxiety to worry about: I couldn't even fix myself properly.
What changed things was realising I have a neurodivergent brain. I'd never been broken in the first place. I'd spent years trying to force a brain that works differently to use tools that were never built for it. Once I understood that, I stopped trying to fight my own brain and started learning what it needed to flourish.
The burnout I'd pushed through eventually left me with a diagnosis of chronic illness — but when I first went looking for help, I was told by a GP that there was nothing wrong with me, even though everything in my body said otherwise. This is a story I hear again and again in my therapy room. Just like me, my clients find themselves struggling with a new anxiety — "what's wrong with me?" — and struggling to find the energy to fight for the diagnosis they desperately need.
The instinct to notice what someone needs before they can put it into words didn't start with my career as a therapist. Long before I trained as a hypnotherapist, I was a veterinary nurse, learning to read what an animal needed when they had no words to tell me. I went on to work in conservation charities before eventually finding my way to hypnotherapy and coaching. Those roles taught me two important things: understanding has to come before helping and we all need the right environment if we're going to flourish.
Rather than working to "fix" someone, I work to understand the individual and their unique needs, using that to guide us towards finding a way for them to flourish in their own way.
That's why, when a client tells me "finally, someone who understands what I'm going through," I know exactly what they mean. When I went looking for support myself, I found people who understood my anxiety in theory but had never lived it — and that gap is exactly what I don't want you to feel here. What my own experience taught me is that there's no single answer that fits everyone. Not from a textbook, not from someone else's journey, not even from mine.
So I'm not trying to hand you the answer that worked for me. I'm here to help you find the one that's yours.
