Functioning and Flourishing are not the same thing
Hello, I'm Caroline. I'm a hypnotherapist and coach. I work with people who often look fine on the outside — capable, successful, holding everything together — but internally they're exhausted or disconnected from themselves.
Maybe you built the career you thought you wanted. Maybe you finally reached the retirement you spent decades planning for. Maybe you're running the business you always dreamed of having.
And somehow, it still doesn't feel the way you thought it would.
A lot of my work starts with one simple truth: you're not broken.
Stress, anxiety, overwhelm and burnout — even when your life looks fine from the outside — are rarely the problem itself. They're symptoms. Signs that something, somewhere in your life, has fallen out of balance.
Often, the changes that make the biggest difference happen on the inside — the beliefs, expectations and mindsets that got you here, but aren't taking you where you actually want to go.
You've worked hard to build a good life.
So why doesn't it feel the way you thought it would?
Maybe your life looks good on paper. The career you climbed towards, or the retirement you finally reached. The business you built from nothing, or the responsibilities you've carried well for years.
And yet something feels missing — a kind of emptiness you can't quite explain and feel guilty even admitting.
Maybe you know that feeling?
The picture of your life looks right from the outside. But behind it, something jars. A gap between how it looks and how it actually feels.
The gap between functioning and flourishing.
I know it — because I lived inside it for years.
I was once offered a promotion at work. A step up the ladder, they said. A pay rise. And they were right — I'd have been good at it.
But it would have taken me one step away from the work I actually loved.
I turned it down. And then spent weeks feeling guilty about it — because I'd spent a lifetime learning to meet other people's expectations before my own.
I didn’t share that story for years. I thought no one would understand.
And then the pandemic happened.
Something shifted in my conversations with my clients. People began saying things they'd never admitted before — in hushed tones, almost embarrassed.
That the job they were terrified of losing, they'd never actually enjoyed.
That the work-life balance they'd been chasing meant two hours commuting every day — when what they actually wanted was simply to be home. To pick the kids up from school. To have more life and less work.
That the peaceful retirement they'd been dreaming of left them feeling empty and adrift. With the kids grown up and no job role to define them, they weren't sure who they were anymore.
That the business they'd built from nothing, working nights and weekends to get it off the ground, had somehow left no room to actually enjoy the life it was meant to be for.
It wasn't really about the job, the title, or the pace of it all. It was about whether life was actually working for them, underneath the way it looked.
Again and again, when I asked people what they wanted to achieve from their sessions with me, they would sigh deeply and say:
"Caroline, I just want to enjoy my life."
And I realised — this wasn't just me. This was so many of us, in so many different chapters of life, building things we thought we were supposed to want, and wondering why they still didn't feel like enough.
But that realisation came with its own set of problems.
If I wasn't enjoying my life — if I'd got it so wrong — then surely I needed to make big, scary changes. Turn everything upside down. Start again.
And that felt impossible. So I stayed stuck.
What I began to discover was something I now share with every client I work with.
Many of the changes that make the biggest difference are ones you make on the inside.
It's rarely about overhauling the external situation — the job, the retirement, the business itself. It's about understanding your own needs and values, and creating the environment, inside and out, where you can actually meet them.
Simple mindset shifts. Reprogramming beliefs that have been running the show without your permission. Learning to set boundaries with intention, rather than guilt.
Small shifts that begin to create big changes.
And you don't have to do it alone.
That's where I come in — your guide on the journey back to yourself.
-
Break free from the exhaustion of stress, anxiety and burnout with modern, clinically proven hypnotherapy and neuroscience-backed techniques.
Build resilience and cope better with life's inevitable ups and downs, for the everyday stress and for life's bigger challenges.
Understand your own unique needs and values — and create the environment, inside and out, where you can actually meet them.
Become you again — confident, motivated, and reconnected with your true self, so you can shape a life that genuinely feels like yours.

My neurodivergent brain and my background in conservation work help me see people's struggles in a unique way.
Instead of asking "what's wrong with this person?" I ask: "what environment have they been trying to survive inside, and what do they actually need to flourish?"
I use a blend of solution-focused hypnotherapy, coaching and mentoring, shaped around you rather than a fixed programme — because there's no one-size-fits-all way for a person to flourish.
In practice, that means I help you explore your own path — not one someone else has mapped out for you. I back up what you're feeling and experiencing with the neuroscience understanding behind it, so it makes rational sense, rather than feeling lost in a jumble of emotions. I reflect back what you might not always see in yourself. And I help you unravel what the past has taught you, without getting stuck there.
A lot of people have spent years adapting, over-functioning, performing success, or overriding their own needs to fit environments that were never really built for them.
My work helps you reconnect with yourself, rebuild self-trust, and create a life that feels more aligned, creative and sustainable — instead of constantly trying to optimise or fix yourself.

I trained at one of the UK's leading schools of hypnotherapy — qualifying at HPD level from the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School in 2013.
But training is only the starting point.
Over 12 years and thousands of hours of client work, I've adjusted and adapted that foundation to work with hundreds of unique individuals. I've lectured at CPHT, supervised trained hypnotherapists, and kept growing and developing my own training in neuroscience, hypnotherapy and coaching, because the way I work keeps evolving in response to my clients' needs.

I work with people experiencing stress, anxiety, overwhelm or burnout — even when everything looks fine on the surface.
People in the middle of a career, at the start of retirement, or deep in building a business they once dreamed of.
Many come to me saying that, on paper, their life looks good — yet they find themselves just getting through each day, wondering where the spark went. They often feel guilty even admitting it: "why can't I just enjoy my life?"
Having navigated anxiety personally, I offer a deeply empathetic perspective to help clients find calm, confidence, and a way forward through their own anxiety journeys.
My neurodivergent clients love my approach because I'm not here to "fix" them. Instead, I use my own experience of navigating life with a neurodivergent brain to create an environment where they can actually flourish.
Drawing from my own experience of burnout and living with a chronic illness, I bring understanding and compassion to clients facing health challenges that impact their daily lives.
Whether you're navigating a career, a new chapter in retirement, building a business, neurodivergence, chronic illness, burnout, or something else entirely — my work is about helping you rediscover the conditions where you can actually flourish.
-
Move from functioning to flourishing — not just getting through your days, but actually living them.
Real tools, not quick fixes — practical ways to work with what's keeping you stuck now, that you can keep using long after our work together ends.
Support that fits you — whether that's stress, anxiety, burnout, neurodivergence, chronic illness or something else entirely, the work adapts to you, not the other way round.
My work is to help you discover the conditions that allow you to truly flourish — and to create more of them in your life.

From a young age, I was guided by a strong intuition to seek out environments that felt right for me.
This instinct led me away from traditional office jobs and towards roles where I could flourish and help others do the same, including Veterinary Nurse, Dog Training Instructor, Charity Worker, Therapist, and Artist.
Along the way, I built a reputation for working effectively with those often seen as “lost causes”, whether that was animals or people.
I found myself with a reputation for finding creative solutions where others thought none existed.
Rather than working to “fix” someone, I worked to understand the individual and find a way for them to flourish in their own way.

My approach centers on truly understanding each individual and connecting with them on a personal level.
I strive to understand your unique needs and values, explore any barriers together, and creatively work around them.
My goal is to help you create the environment — both inside and out — where you can flourish. For my clients, this means:
Valuing you as an individual, not just a list of symptoms
Getting curious about barriers and how to navigate them
Helping you discover solutions that feel right for you
Building mental and emotional resilience tailored to your needs
Supporting you to take back control and create a fulfilling life
I use a blend of solution-focused hypnotherapy, coaching and mentoring.
Hypnotherapy helps you let go of what weighs you down.
Coaching helps you bring your own answers together in ways that make sense.
Mentoring means I share the wisdom of my own journey, so you know you're not alone.
This isn't about fixing you, because you were never broken. It's about creating the space for you to reconnect with yourself, and step onto your own unique path.

If you've ever felt dismissed — by a GP who told you there was nothing wrong when everything in your body said otherwise, or by people who love you but don't quite understand — I've been there too.
I've lived with anxiety. I've been through burnout severe enough to leave me with a diagnosis of chronic illness. I know what it costs to keep functioning when you're falling apart on the inside, and how lonely that can feel when no one around you seems to understand.
Before I became a therapist, I spent years as a veterinary nurse — learning to notice what an animal needed, even though they couldn't tell me in words. I later worked with charities, trained animals, and eventually found my way to hypnotherapy and coaching. Every one of those roles taught me the same thing: understanding comes before helping.
So when a client tells me, "finally, someone who actually understands what I'm going through" — I know exactly what they mean.
When I went looking for support, I found people who understood me in a textbook way. They knew the theory, but they'd never lived it, and that left a gap in how they could support me.
What my own experience taught me is this: there's no one-size-fits-all solution. Not from a textbook, not from anyone else's journey — not even from mine.
So I'm not trying to understand what's going on for you so I can hand you the "right" answer. I'm understanding what's going on for you so I can help you find your own — your own path, created by you, that actually fits.
