Hypnotherapy for Burnout

Yes, hypnotherapy can help with burnout. It works alongside coaching to calm an overactive stress response, rebuild the coping capacity burnout strips away, and help you recognise the patterns that led there in the first place — so recovery holds rather than becoming a cycle of crash and recover.

Why Hypnotherapy Helps With Burnout

Burnout isn't just tiredness. It's a nervous system stuck in overdrive for so long that rest stops working the way it used to. Hypnotherapy works directly with that stress response — helping your brain and body find their way back to calm, rather than asking you to think or willpower your way out of a state your body created.

What a Session Involves

  • A conversation first, to understand what's been happening and what you need

  • Understanding how our brains work and why it impacts on how we feel and the choices we make

  • Practical coaching alongside the hypnotherapy — not one or the other — to help release old patterns, limiting beliefs or mindsets that might hold you back

  • Guided relaxation that lets your nervous system fully downshift

Frequently asked questions

Can hypnotherapy help with burnout recovery?

Yes. Hypnotherapy is often used alongside coaching to help people move out of chronic stress and rebuild sustainable energy, rather than just recovering enough to go straight back into the conditions that caused the burnout.

How many sessions do I need for burnout?

Everyone is different. This isn't a 10-step programme to success — I work with you as an individual, going at your pace and discovering what works for you. On average I work with people for around 6-12 sessions spread out over a number of months.

Is hypnotherapy for burnout different from therapy or coaching?

It's not an either/or. I blend hypnotherapy with practical coaching in the same sessions, so you get calm for the nervous system and concrete tools for daily life together.

Do sessions happen online or in person?

All my sessions are conducted via video call online. Research has shown there is no difference in the effectiveness of online hypnotherapy, and for many people it gives them access to a type of therapy not available to them nearby, or access where they might find it difficult to attend an in-person appointment.

What does burnout recovery feel like with this approach?

The first thing my clients tell me they notice is their nervous system calming down — they aren't so tense, their sleep improves, and the brain fog lifts. From there, clients are able to explore what led them to burn out and what needs to change to help them move forward and maintain that, without getting stuck in a cycle of crash and burn.
